Icicle mani & American Apparel nail polish
I had an easy day today... I feel like I'm finally understanding everything in my math class and I went shopping with Matt. He's constantly looking for the perfect khaki slacks but he's way too picky! It was the perfect chance for me to grab two polishes that I've been wanting, along with two extra bottles that caught my eye!
Read on for my latest mani and more about the AA polishes!

"Rubber ball" mani, inspired by Nouveau Cheap
If you hadn't already realized, I'm horribly lazy when it comes to my nails. I love love love collecting nail polishes and all the colors, I love how there are so many shade variations but it's all just so darn expensive!
Every now and then I try to do a cool little mani. I have one lined up for Valentine's Day and I figured I could fit one more in-between, it's definitely something I'll happily attempt again! There are so many color combinations to use that would look great!
The other day I was browsing one of my favorite blogs Nouveau Cheap and came across this particular manicure post. The drippy nail look is something that's relatively popular and I loved the color combination that was used! I scrolled down to see the polka dot mani and wanted to try it for myself! Unfortunately, I'm a lazy slob and didn't have any bamboo skewers (or anything similar) laying around but I did have flat toothpicks!

I did my taxes and was punched in the gut! I was supposed to be getting a lot more than I am... but because my parents have a lil' fund for my college that collects interest it deducted a lot from my tax return :( Boo!
I made a last minute decision to switch my grey cardigan for this knit cardigan/shrug, put on my tights, and wear my wig... all within 5 minutes before leaving for work! I guess it worked out because a lot of people liked my outfit.
Work was definitely a killer, we didn't get out until midnight!
Fast forward to today, I was greeted by a bunch of lovely packages in the mail!
My prints from wishcandy, a surprise art trade with one of my tumblr followers, and Nicki Minaj's Viva Glam lipstick!!
Read on for pictures of the art and my review of the lipstick!

I didn't really do much that day. I woke up sort of late (~1pm) and lazed around. I had kind of planned to go to the children's museum with my friend Lizzie but it didn't work out because I'm a lazy teen slob. I made plans to hang out with my friend Mariyah but it seemed like she was never going to text me so I finally decided to take a shower.
At the last minute, plans were made that I was going to meet up with Lizzie and company at Huhot. In that same minute, Mariyah texted me asking if we were still hanging out and that she was hungry. I literally did a personal record when getting ready with clothes, makeup and all.
I had never gone to a mongolian place before, even though my dad and a bunch of other people are all about it. I've gotta say... I don't think I'm that fond of stir-fry. The restaurant was pretty cool though, nothing I've ever been to before! I guess you could say it's a buffet of sorts; you grab a plate of frozen meats, vegetables, noodles, pour the sauce on it, then get in line to have your food cooked right in front of you! I mainly had crab and chicken.
After that, neither myself or Mariyah were full and there was a Yogurt Zone within walking distance... so we drove to it (haha).
I came home and took some windy b/w pictures. I think I'm sort of in a black and white "phase", with the exception of my WIWT photos and you know, pictures that need color.
As for nails, I was really indecisive as to what to do. I've been wanting to do a series of Valentine's nails for the whole month just because I love pink/red, but for some reason I didn't have any ideas! So this is what I ended up with:
I call them "mermaid gold" just because of the green/blue nail polish I used, along with the blue and green glitter. I put a few dabs of gold in there too, along with a gold glitter.
These are the polishes that I used!

What I wore today 2/12/2012
Tiger print bodysuit: Ebay (American Deadstock)
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: Payless
Today I did a couple of errands. I went to Target and browsed the makeup. I saw a couple of nail polishes I wanted and I also wanted to try Elf's tinted moisturizer... but I resisted! I went in with the idea of only buying one thing, and I left with only buying one thing! I really wanted to buy an Icee or a little pizza too but I didn't do that either because I knew I was going to be eating dinner at a friend's house.
I went to Staples on the search for some cardstock. I've recently fallen in love with drawing on it! I love the way it absorbs my markers and I just really enjoy the feel of it. I didn't feel like spending $11+ on a pack of all white, so I bought an assorted color stack (100 pages) for about $8! I looked at a couple of printers because I'm thinking about making a few prints to sell, and I also looked at some drawing tablets that seem soooo cool! I really want a new one, but then again, I don't even use my old one because I'm trying to get more into traditional right now.
After that, I had planned to go to the bookstore to draw strangers but I didn't feel like driving the 10+ minutes, so I drove to a nearby Starbucks and planned to sit there. Too bad for me all the tables were taken! There was a lone table outside so I decided to sit there... before I could even get my stuff out, there was a flash rainfall and it was pouring hard rain within 10 seconds! I ran to my car and sat there eating a croissant and drinking my coffee. I eventually texted my friend Mariyah and went to meet her at her mom's house.
I got to her mom's house and her and her sister were watching youtube videos of tweens making fake braces? I didn't even know kids did that! Some poor girl actually super glued the stuff to her teeth! The food that Mariyah's mom made was definitely delicious~ :9 We sat around, tried to get Just Dance 3 from Redbox to no avail, then came back and took turns playing Bit.Trip Runner while eating pickle salt and talking about eyebrows.
Today I tried out L'Oreal's HiP Studio Secrets Professional Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in the "Midnight Blue" shade. I've been wanting to try colored eyeliner for a long time and CVS had this for 50% off so I was game! At first I couldn't really tell that it was blue at all, but in some lights it really pops! Unfortunately, it isn't poppin' here. I found applying it, it was a bit clumpy? My eyeliner brush might be the blame for that though!
I never leave the house without some sort of lip product on and today I went with L'Oreal's Colour Riche lipstick in "Spiced Wine". I really do love this brand's lipsticks, so moisturizing! CVS had this color for %75 so I grabbed it. It's a nice berry red shade that doesn't quite fall under "natural" but doesn't cross the line to being too overwhelmingly red.
I've really been loving having somewhat lengthy hair! This is the longest its been for so long! I have a love/hate relationship with messy updos mainly because I don't really know what I'm doing. I watched a couple of youtube tutorials and this is what I ended up with.

Lip purchases!
Ever since school started, I've had a major cut in my hours at work. Most of it was "play money" anyways, so it's not that big of a deal... I mean, I don't pay for school or have any big bills, I just pay for gas, my phone, car insurance, food... that's it. I've adopted the horrible habit of buying things on a whim just because I like them. Anyways, now I need to really watch my spending :( It's horrible, but it's a part of growing up.
I decided to treat myself to a couple of things from Ulta!
I bought EOS lip balm in Lemon Drop! No exaggeration, it smells exactly like Starburst candy! I know a lot of people rant and rave about this lip balm so I decided to give it a shot. I really love the shape of it and it does it's job! I usually only apply it 1 to 2 times a day; one midday before I go out/put lipstick on and one time before bed!
I'm forever on the search for the perfect pink lip. My lips are naturally very mauve/pink so it's difficult for me to find a lipstick that works, though that might be because I like to think I'm on a budget. I've never really had a good experience with Revlon but because I'm actually on a budget now I decided what the heck, let me give it a try. I'm partial to matte lipsticks so I was hoping for the best with this one.
Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. My experience with Revlon lipsticks/glosses is that they tend to settle in the lines of my lips and this one is no exception. Not to mention, it was very drying! I know of so many girls that can wear their products fine but I guess my lips and their formula just don't get along :(
My hunt for the perfect opaque pink lipstick continues! The last pink lipstick I used was MAC's "Nicki Minaj" pink, which reminded me a lot of Saint Germain. I always paired it with their "Vanity" lip gloss to get that "Barbie pink" lip, but again, I experienced the product settling into the lines of my lips. Maybe it's just my lips? Maybe I need to exfoliate?
I just recently bought Nicki Minaj's new lipstick with MAC for their Viva Glam campaign... I hope I like it!
